Der dritte und letzte Tag in Strausberg geht seinem Ende zu und ich bin geschafft. Die zwei täglichen Trainingseinheiten in der prallen Sonne haben mich einfach dahingerafft. Nicht nur dass der erste Tag mit Anreise, Theoriestunden, Trainingseinheiten und Videoanalysen für mich knappe 13 Stunden gedauert hat, am zweiten und dritten Tag ging es nicht minder flott weiter.

Nachdem am Freitag das praktische Training noch ein wenig chaotisch war, weil sich alle wieder in ihre Positionen und Teams finden und auch die Spielzüge wieder neu aufeinander abgestimmt werden mussten, ging es wieder mit frischem Elan und neuer Motivation wieder auf das glühende Kunstrasenfeld.

Vom Training schubbern regelmäßig noch diverse Granulatbrocken in Schuhen und anderen Ausrüstungsgegenständen, aber das hindert niemanden daran auf allen Spielpositionen Gas zu geben.

Ich habe hier in Strausberg viel gelacht, habe auch einmal, ein langer Tag in Sonne auf dem Trainingsfeld kann einen auch schon mal an die Leistungsgrenzen bringen, kurz nach einem besonders ordentlichen Block meiner Mitspielerin Sarah ein paar Tränchen vergossen. Aber was soll es, die blauen Flecken werden hier wie alte Kriegsnarben verglichen und bestaunt. Ich muss auch noch daran denken, mich bei meinem Defense-Line-Coach für seine Geduld zu bedanken…

Mein Defense-Line-Coach Markus Grässer und der Defense-Coordinator Daniel Koch geben ihr Bestes uns auf den kommenden ersten Gegner Schweden einzustellen. Die WM in Schweden hat bereits heute begonnen, unser erstes Spiel wird am Dienstag sein. Videoanlaysen, Walk-Throughs und Individuals, abgestimmt auf die verschiedenen Positionen im Feld, haben das einzige Ziel das Team als eins arbeiten zu lassen, um abgestimmt auf die Gastgeber vorbereitet zu sein.

Den heutigen Abend im Camp haben wir mit Packen verbracht. Wir haben noch diverse Kleidungsstücke erhalten, die uns als Mitglieder der Deutschen Nationalmannschaft ausweisen, aber damit hat uns das Komitee zugleich einen Gefallen getan und gleichzeitig so manche der Mädels nahe an einen Pack-Kollaps gebracht. Wie bereits bekannt, sind nur 20 Kg im Gepäck erlaubt und so sah man heute Abend diverse Mädchen und Frauen hektisch nach den Federwaagen für das Gepäck suchen. Wie nur alles in die Taschen packen? Was wird hier gelassen? Heute Abend kann keiner verleugnen, dass wir wirklich Mädchen sind…

Langsam wird es ruhig auf den Fluren und auch ich werde mich gleich schnellstmöglich in die Federn begeben. Mein Körper wird es mir danken. Jetzt ist es gleich 12 Uhr nachts und Frühstück wird morgen früh um sechs sein, damit wir uns gegen 7 Uhr auf den Weg zum Flughafen gen Stockholm machen können. Natürlich in unseren Deutschland-Trainingsanzügen.

Also werde ich nun meine restlichen Dinge zusammenklauben und auf den Tisch für morgen legen, This brings me to the bus to the airport afloat out of bed and early.

Daniel Koch: “Don't underestimate Sweden, USA not so far away and final is possible!“

As a defense coordinator, Daniel Koch has one of the three key roles in the coaching staff of the new German women's national team. After graduating from Humboldt High School in Ulm, he studied at Ulm University of Applied Sciences / Neu-Ulm and earned the degree of a graduate industrial engineer (FH). Meanwhile, he also looks back on ten years of experience as a trainer and, of course, has the AFVD Trainer A license. Koch has also acted as a referee for a long time and of course sees this as an advantage, because you cannot know enough about football rules as a coach. As an adolescent, he was selected as an active player in the Bayern selection and played for various men's teams, most recently at the Franken Knights in GFL2 Süd.

Football-aktuell.de: Do you already have the concept for the upcoming Strausberg Camp ready?? What else will they be taught there??

D. Koch: We will primarily watch this video of the international match Sweden-Finland and further deepen what we have learned in the Silberborn Camp. This also applies to the playbook. We also want to focus specifically on the Swedish national team, since they'll be our first opponent and I don't think so either, that we should underestimate Sweden.

Football-aktuell.de: How does a defensive coach prepare for opponents?, that cannot be analyzed in advance?

D. Koch: As already known, we have league game records from Canada and the USA. We know the names of the players in the squad and focus primarily on the game systems of the open team and look first, whether the opponent runs more or prefers the passing game. I have already looked at the material together with our offense coordinator Jörn Maier and we have analyzed, for example, that Sweden prefers two formations. On the one hand, they are running-heavy and have a mobile quarterback, who also often fakes plays. On the other hand, their two wide receivers are very large (each approx. 190cm) and can use play-action moves. Our material is already very useful for preparing for Sweden. Depending on the course of the tournament, we will prepare for other opponents with the fresh video material on site. In doing so, we will generally focus more on the system and the moves, than prepare for individual players.

Football-aktuell.de: Is more than third place possible for Germany? Your tip for the World Cup?

D. Koch: I think so, that the performance gap and the performance density between the six teams is not so great. The US is not that far away, as some experts suspect in the run-up to the World Cup. I would even predict, that participation in the finals would be possible for us.

Man sollte nie etwas glauben, was man nicht selber probiert hat. Als Tight End der Darmstadt Diamonds hatte ich die Möglichkeit, mich von der Qualität der drei süddeutschen Nationalmannschafts-Coaches persönlich zu überzeugen.

Markus Gräßer(Defense Line Rhein-NeckarBandits)

Markus ist in der Nationalmannschaft genauso wie im Verein fürdie Defense Line zuständig. Und die hat uns ganz schön zu schaffen gemacht. Besonders beide Defense Ends wirkten gut gecoacht und haben ein super Spiel gemacht. Auch derDefense Tackle #54 machte uns viele Plays kaputt. Apropos kaputt. Ich persönlich habe in einem Spiel selten so viele blaue Flecken eingesteckt wie gegen die Bandits.

Facemask verbogen!

Das habe ich auch noch nie erlebt. Mein Facemask hat sich im Spiel so verbogen, dass ich mir ein Neues kaufen muss. Ich kam mir vor als hätte ich so ein altes Single-Bar Facemask wie es Kicker noch vor 15 Jahren in der NFL trugen. Da passte deutlich mehr als eine Faust durch, was ich auch zu spüren bekam. Lange Zeit dominierten beide Defense-Reihen das Spiel, am Ende entschied ein wildes Offense Feuerwerk innerhalb der letzten zwei Minuten das Spiel. Wir gingen zweimal in Führung, um dann doch mit 28:24 zu verlieren.

Wenn Markus es schafft, unsere Defense Line in der Nationalmannschaft genauso einzustellen wie die der Bandits, dann wird es für unsere Gegner ein langes Turnier.

Daniel Koch (Defense Line Franken Knights)

Daniel Koch ist hauptsächlich Defense Coordinator im Jugend Team und coacht daneben die Defense Line im GFL 2 Team der Knights. Den Test konnte ich leider altersbedingt nur im GFL2 Team vornehmen, aber diesmal als Offense Line Spieler. Direkt mittendrin also. Zahlenmäßig waren uns die Jungs schon deutlich überlegen. Elf Defense-Line Spieler standen gerade mal zwei etatmäßigen O-Liner gegenüber, aufgefüllt durchDefense Line Spieler und einem Tight End. Elf Spieler auf einer Position bedeutet auf jeden Fall schon mal ein vernünftiges Training. Denn bei elf Spielern bekommen viele nicht so viel Spielzeit wie sie sich wünschen. Wenn sie dennoch am Spieltag bereit stehen, zeugt das von der Qualität der Coaches. Denn nur wenn man das Gefühl hat auch im Training was zu lernen, sich weiter zu entwickeln und dabei Spaß hat, ist ein Spieler auch mit weniger Spielzeit zufrieden. Über die Qualität der Spieler braucht man kein Wort verlieren. Franken Knights haben immer sehr athletische Spieler, technisch gut gecoacht und schnell. Das war auch diesmal so.

Daniel Koch übernahm gegen uns den Job in der “Skybox” und funkte seine Erkenntnisse in die Teamzone. Leider konnte ich den Funkverkehr nicht abhören (das hätte uns bestimmt geholfen) aber im Ergebnis war Franken stets gut gegen uns aufgestellt. Wir konnten zwar den Ball erfolgreich bewegen, aber am Ende reichte es nur für einen Score.

Conny Jäckel (Wide Receiver DarmstadtDiamonds)

Dieser Test ist der schwierigste und einfachste zugleich. Schliesslich hatte ich mehr als genug Gelegenheit Conny beim Coaching zu beobachten. Doch den eigenen Coach und die eigene Lebensgefährtin zu beurteilen kann nie objektiv sein. Fakt ist, dass sie viel Zeit in die Vorbereitung investiert. Jede Übung wird geplant, getestet und umgesetzt. Ständig diskutieren wir über die Leistung der Spieler, analysieren die Videos und arbeiten an der Weiterentwicklung für unser Team. Die Diskussionen sind auch für mich immer sehr lehrreich. So lerne ich auf Running Back und Wide Receiver viel dazu, habe aber zum Glück noch ein paar Vorteile auf den anderen Positionen. Conny hat bewiesen, dass sie in der GFL2 ihren Mann stehen kann und wird dies auch in der Nationalmannschaft tun.

Fazit des Test

Absolut positiv. Ich glaube, wir haben die richtigen Coaches für die Weltmeisterschaft. Dieser Eindruck aus dem Trainingslager hat sich jetzt mit dem Test verfestigt. Und die Coaches sind nicht nur fachlich sehr gut, sondern auch menschlich. Es hat viel Spass gemacht sich mit Ihnen nach dem Spiel zu unterhalten. Die Weltmeisterschaft kann kommen.
