Equipment – Die Helfer im Hintergrund

18.04.10

Autor: AGebek | Kategorie: General, Inside the Team, Staff

The Chronicles of Aurea Moguntia

We have Easter Sunday and I'm still not sure, what to make of last year. seen football technically.

The away game against Bochum opened my Mainz coach, that he wants me in the national team, and I reply with the utter conviction: “Nein! So what I will definitely not make!”. Today I sit at the computer and read to me repeatedly in disbelief Christiane email by, In which stands, that I can take to Stockholm. (O.o)

In late summer, the information comes, I'm invited to tryout to Cologne. All right then, I do not have so alone in the lion's den and must 5 take my teammates. The relaxed uncommonly. less relaxed – and linked to some debates with my GP – are the broken outer bands, accompany me to tryout. Since I had to listen to some sayings me already “but, you are one of the crazies, playing a scrimmage in front of one week tryout yet!” … “Ja, just one of which I am.” My fighting spirit is aroused! So what I still will not let me sit on! ATTACK!

The phase of waiting begins. Time turned, then hopeless, euphoric times, times on the verge of madness. My immediate surroundings must withstand a lot. comes closer the January, the higher the probability, I about Sweden, World Cup and football talk. Wie gut, I by snow, Skier, Snowboards and children'm distracted. Am 7.1.2010 one 9:14H shaken a cheer Austria. I get a text message from good old Germany by Jörg: “Congratulations you're in, like all of us!” The first one has to digest and watch, that you can not choking on his Nuttellabrötchen! \(*.*)/

The March coming and with it the jitters. In the office I am frequently asked, When the camp is and whether you must then get out to get his pompom, to be my cheerleader. In the week before the camp, I have a hard time, to focus on the work and do not only with the packing list, the departure time, to deal with the Defense Playbook and recent motivational words from coach. Thank God I'm drowning close to working and can thus maintain my nerves and must not be afraid, completely to spin the wheel.

And then he's there. The day, where it's on to new pastures. The next step on the way to “Glory”.

After a sleepless night I collect Sharon and Sonja in Mainz. Together we nozzles 30 Kilometers to Becky, to meet there Michelle and very environmentally friendly to heat with natural gas to Silberborn. Time we have enough in the luggage…Oh I, Luggage we have enough. If we had originally planned to sixth driven to Camp, we would have had a real space problem. In this case the car was a Van! (O.O)

Actually we had planned, again together to go through the Play Books, ultimately, however, we have dealt with Becky Sociology Summary. Simmel and Co. accompanied us all the way from Frankfurt to Holzminden.

Silberborn, Welcome to the Nowhere! Although I am a country girl, but so rural I do not need it actually. Felt 50 Km no Aldi, no Lidl and no gas station. Moment. A gas station we found! Abstoppen, cyberspace and tight cuddle with the gas column. who knows, if have on the land also open on Sundays here! Nein, it was not so bad. We just came from the wrong side. From others we experienced at the weekend, that it 10 Minutes even a McDonald's! Our navigation system is simple diet friendly!

The weekend is quickly told. Regen, theory, Regen, Training, essen, Regen, theory, mud fight, sleep. Aufstehn, essen, theory, Mud pack for good of Lower Saxony Moor Mud, essen, theory, even more mud, sleep. My new washing machine will rejoice!

Essen. Important! Important! Unfortunately, the kitchen is not over 70 starved women designed…at least not Friday evenings. I guess, they did not expect this hungry crowd, the like Piranhias crashes on the fried potatoes. Who comes last, is content with bread and salad. True to the motto of the weekend “Be flexible” Comment from the kitchen: “The fried potatoes were only a side dish!” *LoL*
The Küchenfeen have learned. On Saturdays and Sundays enough because there are delicious taster vegetable soup. A decent steak would have been personally prefer me. (^.^)

And then it was over, with this stage. Monday morning moves the laundry in the full-automatic washing machine and must be washed twice, unfortunately,, because Silberborner mud settles deep in pores. I'm back in the office and enjoy the rest, that the holidays bring with them. Am i exhausted? Ja. Mental. The inner tension drops and I'm back in the here and now. Back in reality. My inner maneuver criticism tells me, that I could have done a lot better. Andy's pictures speak a similar language. The training units at home are again detached from all stress, and I find it real relaxation, to be able to fool around with my girls again and to know, that this is the realm of football, that I can just have fun with, without feeling the pressure of scouting on your neck. Ultimately, it's two worlds. The world of the national team, in which I want to perform, because I am a national player and therefore do a competitive sport, and the world in the club, where we all play, because we enjoy it and wherever we go “unpacks the biscuits”, silly when warming up, childish little songs and still wants to win.

My family, Friends and colleagues respond with cheers to Christiane's e-mail and I am sitting in front of my computer again, wondering, where the past weekend has gone. It's really surreal. We are with 5 Girls from Mainz drove to Silberborn and continue to Sweden as well. The rookie team from the south, that was launched last year, provides the most players in the national team after two first division clubs. And me? I, always one 4, when volleyball was played one 3, had in sports, is in the squad at a World Cup and wears the colors of their nation. Can someone wake me up, please?? That must be a dream! \(*.*)/

The training camp in my view

Pretty cold hit me and my team-mates Steffi and Miri into Silberborn. After a short detour via Holzminden and the local supermarket, we got hold of a parking space right outside the door. Gradually, other players from different teams arrived. Some I knew very well (Players in the 1. Party), some I did not know (Players in the 2. Party). The acquaintances greeted each other with hugs and chatter went straight off. When women come together… :-).

After the performance sports director has arrived, it was about time 10 Pm for check-in. In the order of logging the rooms were occupied. I shared a room with Steffi (BKL) and Sandra and Anja (both Dresden). Steffi must have felt pretty sure, with so many liners in a room ;-).

A short time later it was the first theory session on the program, separately for offense and defense. I was allowed to attend the Defense Theory.
According to the theory, we went with Upper pads out already. As nice as the weather in the morning, too bad it was the afternoon. Regen, Thunder and lightning shortened first practice, so it followed right back to the theoretical went. Even after dinner was not an end to the theory. Slowly, the fatigue was spreading and the capacity faded by the minute. Finally, I think it was so half 10, we were allowed to bed. I was following immediately :-).

Next morning: theory, Walktrough, Full Pads Training. It was still raining, so that the “race” was no longer recognizable as such. mud, Mud and mud again. If you do not stuck, slipped one from. Naja, the conditions were the same for all yes. So slowly turned me with a sense one, I did not know before. I had good competition on my Positon and true. I had to give everything and show, I could. Every word the coach was analyzed and scrutinized in the head: “What he means now so?” “Was that good or bad?”. With this feeling I went to sleep every night. So that's it, when your own performance is evaluated outside of their own team of neutral Coaches. Oh man… so I had to cope first. Nevertheless, the fun in the scrimmages was not neglected.

Saturday night was there yet surprisingly one meetings with the Postioncoaches. I was extremely uneasy. What to expect? What will he tell me? Am I good, I have to prove the next day again. Am I bad, I have to prove myself and am also possibly. inhibited by the criticism. That is hard. On Sunday, the last day there was the final-Scrimmage. There, too, one was reminded again, that this is the last chance here to prove themselves.
With each error, I have committed, the feeling was worse. “Is this the end?” On the other hand the fun comes out then but, the Football for me is yes. So I played free of the liver, by instinct. To 36 Plays the end of the camp was then announced. Now everything is done, Now nothing can be more change. The coaches have decided or will decide still in subsequent Coaches Meeting.

Conclusion: It was a new experience to train with so many good Spielerinnnen together. It was to compete against to see a new experience. And it was also a new experience, like football Germany brings together and how friendly the players were each other. A huge compliment goes to the Orga and Staff Team. Christiane had always turn to them an open ear and you could with any concerns. You had to worry about anything, it was all taken care of. I felt very well attended. Thank you very much.

PS: I'm going crazy and I look forward with all the good players together to stand on the field. 🙂

Tag der Entscheidung

31.03.10

Tag 2 – It is working hard

The weather is a little better. better means, that you can train. It is still raining in between and when the wind is up it is also bitterly cold. But we can do it, for which we are meeting here: Football!

The first training session of the day takes Coach “babies” Melzer. He has developed an extensive program, to test the players for special teams. While the kicker, Punter, go down Long snapper and Returner to the square, I may I film the test kickoff and Kickoffreturn. May, because the camera is in the warm dining room of this, slowly turn into a mud desert during the girls on the field before me. In five rows side by side they run over and over again the field down. With an increasing number of girls is changing the white and red jerseys slowly into a uniform brown. Later we will see, that there are many shades of brown, depending on how old the stains are.

The following team training is of course filmed. When InsideRun offense succeed some big plays. Later in the scrimmage, the Defense has again ahead.

standards Lueck, our video man, the cameras collected immediately after training. Now the hot phase begins for him. All videos are transferred to his laptop and stored each move individually. This will take the longest in the entire process. We to record the Indies all drills on. The scrimmage will be even partially filmed with three cameras. If standards has everything on his laptop, then he takes him out to dinner and the coaches get the way the videos on their hard drives copied. Thanks to modern technology every coach is all the video promptly on his laptop available. A great thing, especially if you are the one with the situation 10 to 15 years compares. At that time there was only VHS Video. Copying took forever and when playing the comfort was not very. Instead of VHS and television, you now have computers and projectors.

In the afternoon we are back on the square. There are now only a few corners, that we haven't plowed over yet. The player slides out more often. The first injuries also occurred. Our two physios Meike and Steffen have their hands full with taping and treating minor injuries, but now our team doctor Dr. Marco Ezechieli to do. The space conditions are partly to blame, some of them are injuries, that can happen in football. All injured from here get well soon and the wish that they will be well soon.

In the afternoon we have the press again. This time it is the Neue Westfälische, that we can welcome. Suse Erdmann is wanted as an interview partner, who presented itself in good shape in the training camp and dances through the opponents several times in the afternoon as if they were slalom poles.

In the evening, in addition to the video and theory units, all defense players will have a one-to-one talk on the program. Defense Coordinator Daniel Koch and his coaches talk to each player in their group. They show you up, where they are currently in the ranking, what is expected of them on the last day of training, where their strengths and where their weaknesses are. So every player knows the starting situation for the last day. The measure, which is rather unusual in football, is well received by the players.

In the evening everyone sinks into bed tired. The night is short, not least because the time change steals an additional hour from us. Rumor has it that a coach fell asleep in his room while preparing for the next day over work…
