Teams do well not so common station in Hochsolling. pity, because the area around Silberborn is well suited. It is located in Germany and offers all reasonable access routes. And the holiday region with its rich nature is secluded enough, that focus on , but rather provides that matters. The sport.
The rare presence of teams needed us an even greater attention. We had three times the press at Camp. The Daily Gazette Holzminden, Westfalenblatt and Neue Westfälische (in the order of arrival) gave us the honor. we could maintain a result the next day in hand. When Daily Gazette we had made it to the front page and get an extra half a page in local sports. Our innkeeper got us three copies. Thank you very much.
Perhaps the article were the cause, that we had in the afternoon session as many onlookers, who were very interested and have watched enthusiastically. Turned even have been sitting in the trees around the field of play.

Erste Früchte der Arbeit

Was lange währt wird endlich gut. Diese Woche geht es ins Trainingslager. Die Spannung steigt. Für die Spielerinnen wird es bestimmt noch schlimmer sein als für uns Staff. Gut dass es bald losgeht.
So langsam zeichnet sich auch ein Feedback im Pressebereich ab. Das Telefon klingelt jetzt häufiger und es hat schon mehrere Anfragen gegeben. Das Thema Frauen-Nationalmannschaft, American Football und Weltmeisterschaft klingt für viele interessant. Und das zurecht. Das beruhigt mich. Einge Projekte klingen sehr vielversprechend. Jetzt muss ich am Ball bleiben, dann kann das klappen mit der Pressearbeit.
Jetzt müssen wir nur noch die 45 Spielerinnen für Stockholm finden und diese besser kennen lernen. Besonders die Herkunft wird immer wieder gerne hinterfragt. Gesucht wir der Local Hero, die Frau aus unserer Region, die in Stockholm unser Land vertreten wird. Für mich heißt das in den nächsten Tagen: Informationen sammeln, Spielerinnen kennen lernen, die Zusammenarbeit koordinieren und Kontakte vermitteln. Viel Arbeit, denn ich kenne maximal die Hälfte aller aktuellen Spielerinnen.
Ab nächster Woche werde ich dann hoffentlich auch Verstärkung für diesen Blog bekommen. Jede Spielerin, die Spass am Schreiben hat, ist ab sofort gerne eingeladen, hier von ihren Erlebnissen zu berichten.

Vor Ort in Silberborn

Vor den Besuch der Frauen-Nationalmannschaft in Silberborn wollten wir uns selber ein Bild machen. Also machte ich mich mit unser Team-Managerin Mariam Khamsi-Strauch auf den Weg nach Silberborn. Wer es bisher nicht kannte, das ist ein Ortsteil von Holzminden in Niedersachsen. Recht zentral in Deutschland gelegen.
Nachdem der Winter in der Nacht zuvor überraschend zurückgekehrt war, lagen dort fast zwanzig Zentimeter Neuschnee. Die zwei großen und zwei kleinen Sportplätze waren daher nur am Rand zu erkennen, doch der Leiter der Jugendherberge machte mit uns eine Führung durch das Haus und zeigte auch Räume die für das Lagern von Equipment oder für die Theorieeinheiten genutzt werden können. Besonders letztere werden intensiv genutzt werden, wollen wir die Zeit im Camp doch optimal nutzen.
Wenn das Wetter am Trainingswochenende nun besser wird, steht einem erfolgreichen Camp nichts
im Wege, die Herbergeseltern sind sehr bemüht unseren Bedürfnissen und Wünschen nachzukommen.
