… then we go to the training camp in Strausberg. Oh man, two weeks yet, then the third training camp this season is on the agenda. 1. Silberborn (end of March), 2. Strausberg (Easter), Strausberg (end June). For us, Berlin Strausberg's no stranger, we annually attend our training camp there. I am very pleased, but this time to train with the Natio :-).

The butterflies in your stomach is also increasingly. The helmet is there and sparkles me now (quite naked) an. He cries out for the sticker with the German eagle.

A red mouthpiece and a black Scullcap also waiting to be picked up.

But now is starting the great Plan of:

  • What I take to training camp with? As a Berlin one has the advantage, that are no longer needed items can be picked up by someone. (but who?)
  • What I take with me to Sweden? In 20kg baggage allowance included. Equipment must that be considered.
  • exchange money. How much will I need crowns well? Oh man, why Sweden has not adopted the euro, that would make everything much easier
  • Is my travel insurance still valid?
  • And very important, Who takes care of my farm? weekdays from (Some becoming understood)
(Editor's note: The hotel has free Wi-Fi and freises computers should be numerous there.)

Fragen über Fragen, which need to be clarified in the remaining weeks which, then all “relaxed” to travel to Sweden.

And then we go right. No later than the first game, when we run for the first time in our game outfit on the square and the National Anthem (ups, I must have still learning ;-)) hear, is me (An)almost tear voltage. But it will be worth :-).

We'll see each other soon…

Times are tough…

… Jeannine Weise is tougher

There are athletes, their hobby is a second passion for them. You drive many kilometers voluntarily, just to take part in a training session, or to play a point game. Don't be discouraged either, when they are hit by a stroke of fate. One such personality is the 30-year-old Jeannine Weise from Neuwied and has been through a lot in recent years. “I started 1993 mit Flag Football. When there was no women's football team in Neuwied, I first commuted to Cologne, later to Rüsselsheim and Düsseldorf, again a little later to Mülheim, only to end up with the Falconets in Cologne. The changes were only made due to the distance and the associated long travel times, not because of a certain dissatisfaction among the teams.” As a "sideline" she trains the juniors of the Neuwied Footballer and looks after her six-year-old daughter, who "coached" the sideline even before she was born in the womb and today, as a growing child, has a lot of fun playing the dummies. If possible, would definitely like to see Jeannine, that she can play football with her daughter.

But how does a woman do it, Kind, Football, Bringing private life and then also the national team under one roof? "Time management is everything and it doesn't work without helpers", so Jeannine, who can count on her mother in emergencies and then take care of her daughter. Seen in this way, the old African wisdom applies, that raising a baby elephant is always a matter for a whole herd, also with us humans. Jeannine will definitely get help in terms of financing her participation in the World Cup. Die Cologne Falcons, your new home club, her father and also the city of Cologne want to secure and show the financing of the important trip, that solidarity does not have to be just an empty phrase. Further sponsors are of course still welcome.

“I'm really looking forward to Stockholm. I've been dreaming of a women's football championship since I was a teenager and I've been really pissed off, when Sweden played against Finland and Germany wasn't that far, to set up their own national team. The motivation was correspondingly high, when Jeannine took the qualification race for a place in the German team, the qualification for the 45 squad and was also taken into account. “And if I am allowed to be there, Then of course I would like to get as much playing time as possible and I hope the team will rank well. I think so, that a third place is possible and every team can be beaten and go into every game with a full will to win. "

And just like Jeannine for the WM project 2010 and thus also campaigns for this country, so it should be possible, if somewhere in the Cologne / Neuwied area an employer would give the national player a new professional perspective. A half-day job would be nice for the trained office clerk and single mother in the first step, so that daughter, Always have football and job reconciled for the benefit of everyone

Extra training before the World Cup in Berlin Spandau

04.06.10

Autor: Robert Melzer | Kategorie: General, Facts about the team

Only three weeks before the national players go to Sweden for the World Cup. Jeanette Beastoch, who was seriously injured in the preparatory camp in Silberborn, does everything to get fit again as quickly as possible. An operation on her right shoulder forced her to take a long break from training. Now that your doctor has given the "green light" to exercise, she couldn't hold anything anymore. Her mother's birthday, who lives in Nauen very close to Berlin, gave Jeanette the idea, to use the long way from Nuremberg as a training unit. To determine her current state of healing and performance, she asked Coach Trabi, whether he would take time for you, to hold an extra training session with her. Jeannette's friend Hauke Bastert was also there. As an active player in the German national team, he used the opportunity to train himself as a trainer in professional discussions with the wide receiver coach of the women's national team.

“Jeanette asked me in Silberborn whether I would not have the time and inclination to go through a few things with her to get her fit again or. to improve. We always stayed in touch, be it by email or phone, so that I was always up to date, regarding the healing process of the shoulder. ”Coach Trabi.

The three used the beautiful Helmut Schleusener Stadium as a practice site (Berlin Spandau) by coach (Melzer) Trabi and the Spandau Bulldogs are at home.
On Friday the 28.05. one 18:00 Uhr began the training with a video analysis of the film material from Silberborn. The training program was created taking into account the current level of performance. Highly motivated, balls were caught under the eye of an infallible video camera, Agility exercises, Stance and Starts, Releases and routes trained. Coach Trabi took the time to explain or improve all the exercises, which were ultimately analyzed again in peace in the office.

In the end, the Spandau ladies came to the square after their video meeting. Obviously enthusiastic about the high attendance and the commitment of Jeanette, the Spandau women will now try even more, in order to maybe become part of the national team in the future. Happy to have quenched the football fever again after doing nothing for a long time, said goodbye to Jeanette and Hauke.

“Passion and diligence in training are two attributes that can distinguish very good players from good players. My respect for so much commitment ". Coach Trabi

Who has the longest way to the football field??

Autor: Jörg Schlüter / Huddle | Kategorie: General, Blog, Facts about the team, Inside the Team

Svenja Konowalczyk certainly deserved this unofficial title in German women's football. Because she is preparing for higher academic degrees at the University of Heidelberg, but is at home in Kiel and until October 2009 has successfully studied sports science with nutritional science and pedagogy as a minor in the state capital of Schleswig-Holstein, she lays the remarkable distance of around at every home game of the Baltic Witches in the season 700 Kilometers back. Because she is well known by the "sea witches", she can still be part of the team despite the long distance and can keep fit in the Mannheim Knights football school team during the week. After the camp in Silberhorn, 25-year-old Svenja also received the accolade from the coaches of the women's national team. As a cornerback, she will be able to travel to Stockholm with Freya Kleine and represent the Kiel colors.

"My first contact with football was a bit strange", Svenja remembers. “My sister had a boyfriend back then, who in turn was Freya's brother. Because Freya was already playing football back then, one day she took me to winter training. I thought that was so great, that I stayed with the Witches. "

In addition to their athletic achievements, who catapulted them into the 45 squad, Svenja also has extensive Scandinavian experience, because she stayed in Norway for a long time during her studies. The anticipation is correspondingly great and the Kiel women showed themselves at the GFL Season Opener on 1. Mai 2010 also very busy and advertised with proper Viking disguise among the spectators for the World Cup and asked for a donation for the fare. “A lot has already come together and funding applications have already been submitted to the city of Kiel and the state. The regional professional association AFVSH and the ASC Kiel have already given us generous support, so that we are all of good cheer, the cost of the camps, be able to finance the helmet and the trip to Stockholm. "

So it can start soon and Svenja is eagerly looking forward to the sporty opponents: “Because none of the participating nations have played that many international matches, nobody can really predict, who can become world champion. Of course, the USA and Canada are favorites, but we also have a certain tradition to prove. It applies to us now, that we continue to prepare as well as possible in the remaining time until the first game. I'm in close contact with Freya, of course, and the last preparatory meeting in Berlin-Straussberg will certainly bring the team together even more. "

Coach Trabi’s Tips&Tricks: WR Moves

25.05.10

Autor: Robert Melzer | Kategorie: Blog, beam Tips & Tricks

Hello my Ladys,

after the “Stance and Start”, of course, the pass route follows. I gave you an excerpt from my playbook as a PDF file to look at or. Download attached. What you can see here are the most common routes as I run them with my wide receivers in Spandau, of course there are small adjustments here and there, but basically it should look something like this.

The pass routes can be seen against a cornerback that is a little lower, on the other hand against a closely standing defender who plays the so-called "press coverage".

The “single move” is a feint of the receiver into the opposite one, Planned running direction to deceive the defender. In press coverage, the defender will always try to interfere with the receiver with his hands on the LOS, which he does with the use of his hands (knock away) must prevent.

This deception can of course also be done with a “double move”, that means you only react in the direction in which you actually want to run, then take a step in the opposite direction and then finally come back to the planned direction. It all sounds very difficult, but practice makes perfect.

Until then you can practice the routes dry or against a defender who tries to defend you one on one.

In the next tips&Tricks we deal with the release techniques against a corner in press coverage.

From the far north…

Autor: Jörg Schlüter / Huddle | Kategorie: General, Blog, Freya Small, Inside the Team

The football location Kiel is one of the booming “markets” in Germany. Of course, the A.S.C. As with the Baltic Witches (DBL2) also a women's football team. The Witches could with Freya Kleine, Svenja Konowalczyk and Yvonne Striegnitz place two players and one successor in the squad of the new women's national team and are also among the hot favorites in this year's season in DBL2 North. Freya Kleine took the time and answered our questions during the World Cup preparation weeks.

Football-aktuell.de: Hello Freya, can you please introduce yourself to us?

Freya Small: My name is Freya and I am 23 year old. I have been playing football for five years and have been involved with the Kiel Baltic Witches since then. At that time, the team's advertising was hanging in my school and I just went to training and stuck with it. In the beginning I was a tight end and a receiver, then, at the request of my future DB coach, I switched to defense and became safety.

Football-aktuell.de: Is there anything else in your life besides football?

Freya Small: Of course, my family and friends are very important to me. But football has been a big part of my life. I also like to be creative, love movies and like to go dancing.

Football-aktuell.de: Do you practice other sports?? How did you go to football?
came?

Freya Small: Before I got into football, I rode western, as well as almost all of my family. At some point, however, I stopped having fun at the tournaments, although I was quite successful (multiple national champion SH and German runner-up as well as one German champion). When I saw the flyer from my current team at school, I was immediately enthusiastic, although I didn't really have a clue about American football back then.

Football-aktuell.de: You play in the national team in the position of safety. How did you experience the preparatory camps in Cologne and Silberborn? The level was much tougher than in the club?

Freya Small: The situation itself was just quite different. There was constant pressure to perform, because you really wanted to get into the squad. In the teams of the DBL and DBL2 there is often a shortage of female players, so that you are usually in a safe position and often both ways are played. In the camps you had to fight for your place within a few days and did not have the entire off-season time as in the club, convince the coach of himself. There were also a lot of really good girls there, so a real competitive situation. Still, it was cool, to get to know the girls better, that you usually only see as opponents on the field.

Football-aktuell.de: How do you try to prepare for the World Cup until the camp in Straussberg / Berlin??

Freya Small: In addition to training in the club, I try to stick to the training plan of our physio Steffen as much as possible. I also do some sprint exercises.

Football-aktuell.de: How do you want the money for the trip “scrounge together”?

Freya Small: First of all, our association and the AFVSH support us: An application has also been made to the city of Kiel and the LSV. Furthermore, we want to write to a few regional companies and ask for financial resources. We are also on our GFL team's first game day, ran around the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes with the money box and were happy about some donations from the Kiel fans - many thanks to all supporters!

Football-aktuell.de: What are your expectations when you go to Stockholm?? What is sporty
possible?, Will you be able to compete as a starter? What would happen, if D-Land didn't come third?

Freya Small: Whether I can compete as a starter, the coaches will probably decide in the preparatory camp in Berlin, depending on the service provided and the appropriate interaction. I definitely hope so, that we can all do our part at the World Cup. I think, all teams are very serious opponents, because they too have prepared for the World Cup and will only have their best players in the squad. Since I don't know any of their games and our squad has not yet played an international match, I can not judge, how an encounter will turn out. As long as we all do our best, however, I am confident.

Football-aktuell.de: What would happen in Kiel?, when you return as world champions
would come?

Freya Small: That would of course be the top hammer. What then happens in Kiel, I can't predict. Our team, Families and friends would probably be very happy with us. Otherwise I hope, American football is becoming more popular for women and all teams are getting new members or even new teams are being formed, so that the league gets bigger and more games can be played.

Football-aktuell.de: Thank you for your time and your answers.
